Realistic Painting

Goal

To transform solid drawing skills into coherent, realistic paintings through mastery of color, value, light, and spatial relationships, using traditional oil and acrylic techniques.

 

Curriculum

  • Painting from life: still life, landscape, and figure studies

  • Traditional painting techniques including layered build-up, glazing, and controlled direct painting

  • Study of color relationships, tonal hierarchy, edge control, and light effects

  • Gradual introduction to personal subject matter while maintaining academic discipline

This course is intended for students with a reliable drawing foundation who wish to develop long-term painting skills and a deeper understanding of realist painting methods.
